THE TIDE MANIFESTO
The Tide represents the unstoppable gravitational force of the new generation. It's the day the young unleash their creativity and reimagine the future they want. The Tide is about listening to that powerful voice and amplifying the message to those who today are deciding a future they will not necessarily witness. The Tide washes ashore a billion bottles with messages from today's decision cast-aways.
The Tide is a 24-hour data gathering exercise that wakes up at 10 am in Samoa on June 20, 2025, June's solstice, to finish the same day and same time but 24 hours later, also in Samoa. Along that day, as 10 am hits the world, young Tide Riders across the world share their personal vision for their homes and communities and imagine the planet they want to walk.
The Tide is also the generative engine that weaves together this continuous wave of activity, this global tapestry of human habitats and possible futures. This vivid map will invite the world to zoom in and draw inspiration from the creative, possible tomorrows. Along the day, Tide Riders get to share their vision and hear the live voices of influencers, artists, thinkers, and entrepreneurs. Those who think alike and those who don't.
L is for Listening, A is for Analysing, and B is for Building. The Tide LAB taps on Natural, Collective, and Artificial Intelligence under a Cadavre Exquis model to make sense of The Tide, following a Green-Amber-Red code. Green for factual, verified data, Amber for summaries and statistics, Red for forecasts and AI-generated content.
The Tide map will be projected live on monitors in the Biennale Architettura 2025 venues. Every day until the end of the event, the 24-hour data visualization will be repeated, evolving as new insights are drawn from the original June 20 data.
Tide Riders are not bound by age though the primary focus is on those aged 12 to 24 worldwide, about 16% of the world population.
The Tide cannot afford ideology, no spokesperson nor visible sponsors. The world will prepare for The Tide a couple of months in advance. #TheTideIsRising
The impact of The Tide will be long-lasting. A powerful message, a day in data and the insights it provides, a new global network of millions of young people committed to a better planet.
